Marble is a very porous natural stone material that will readily absorb moisture and staining agents. That is why it needs to be sealed during and after installation, as well as periodically every 6-12 months throughout the life of the product. Luckily the act of sealing a marble floor is relatively easy and should take less than an hour with each application.
Difficulty Level: Easy
Time To Complete: 1 hour or less
Materials Required
- Marble Sealer
- Foam Brush
- Clean rag
The first thing that you want to do is apply a small amount of the sealing agent to an out of the way corner of the floor. This is done in order to make sure that the sealant will not discolor the material. Allow it to dry thoroughly and then compare it to the other tiles. The only difference should be that the sealed surface is lightly shinier and glossier than the others.
